American-Palestinian Teenager Freed After 270 Days in Israel's Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian youth after completing a nine-month period in Israeli detention without charge was released.
Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 at the time of his arrest last February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.
United States authorities expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.
Now sixteen years old, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.
According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues acquired while detained.
Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle expressed the family's "immense relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"At this moment, our priority is providing Mohammed with urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after experiencing Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions for months."
American authorities said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance to the teenager's relatives.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to the state department and the White House, requesting additional efforts to release him.
The father, with four children who runs an ice cream business based in Tampa, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.
He had not seen or spoken to Mohammed since the arrest, and only heard about his son's condition in detention through court documents.
He stayed absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.
It is also home to adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted of serious terrorism offences and murder.
There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Numerous remain uncharged while advocacy organizations, and international organizations, report instances of abuse and torture.
Subsequent to his liberation, Mr Kadur said relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen who the Palestinian health ministry said succumbed to assault by radical settlers following tensions last July.
Initially, the Israeli military said they were examining information regarding a civilian had been killed.
The two cousins collaborated within the family's frozen treats establishment based in Florida.
No charges have been filed with Sayfollah's killing.
