Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world had expressed condolences for the star in the following the terrible crash.
