Approximately 90 Air Travels Linked to Jeffrey Epstein Allegedly Arrived at or Departed from UK Airfields
A review has identified that nearly 90 aircraft journeys associated to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein reportedly arrived at and departed from UK airports, with some reportedly transporting British women who claim they were victimized by the convicted sex offender.
Flight Logs Reveal Pattern of Travel
The travel manifests were part of a trove of legal papers and papers released by Epstein’s estate that have been disclosed over the past year. The investigation identified 87 aircraft movements tied to Epstein – featuring many that were not previously known – coming into or leaving from UK airports between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Onboard Individuals and After Guilty Verdict Travel
Unidentified women were recorded among the individuals travelling into and out of the UK. Significantly, 15 of these UK flights happened following Epstein’s 2008 conviction for procuring prostitution from a minor.
“This is ‘astonishing’ that there had never been a ‘full-scale UK investigation’ into his operations in the country,” said US lawyers representing hundreds of Epstein survivors.
UK Survivors and Court Cases
A statement from one of the British victims helped convict Epstein’s associate socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. Yet, that victim has never been contacted by British law enforcement, according to her Florida-based lawyer.
In a response, the London's Metropolitan Police said they had “not been provided with any additional evidence that would support restarting the investigation.” They commented, “If new and relevant evidence be brought to our attention, including any arising from the disclosure of material in the US, we will review it.”
Continuing Document Release and Judicial Decisions
A bill to disclose all files held by the American government in relation to Epstein passed the US Congress last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to adhere to this requirement. A vast number of files are expected to be released.
Additionally, a federal judge ruled last week that the DOJ could make public investigative materials from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime confidante, who is currently serving a 20-year jail term over the charges.
