Barcelona Ready for Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
