Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
A spokesman for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions directed at young women.
The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Prolific Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
