The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.

The team omitted the name of the player by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

Official Complaints Currently Not on File

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.

Rice's Prior Legal Issues

The receiver was absent for the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.

On the field, Rice concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
