Fighters chuckle as they travel on the rear of a pick-up truck, speeding by a row of nine lifeless forms and moving in the direction of the sinking Sudan's sun.

"See all this effort. Observe this instance of ethnic cleansing," a combatant cheers.

He smiles as he turns the camera on his person and his fellow fighters, their Rapid Support Forces badges clearly shown: "They are all going to perish like this."

These individuals are celebrating a massacre that relief organizations fear claimed the lives of in excess of two thousand individuals in the Sudan's urban center of el-Fasher in recent weeks.

A City Isolated from the World

Having held the community under siege for approximately an extended period, from the summer the paramilitary force advanced to consolidate its position and blockade the remaining civilian population.
