The Opening Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Remains Committed.

Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform as a new development. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that the green gaming company still intends to attract subscribers with strong games on its flagship service.

The Current Inclusions

The two games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

On Jan. 13, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of horror and action."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

However, the more modest titles set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, becomes available next week — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Well-Rounded Collection

All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they were due initially — rendering them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
