Two Charged Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
